WiFi QR code generator

Enter your network name and password, check the preview with your phone camera, and print it by the door or on the counter.

Create your code

WPA covers WPA2 and most WPA3 networks. The password is put into the code on your device and is not sent to us.

Building and previewing the code is free and works right here; you can scan the preview with your phone. Downloading the PNG or SVG file starts the 7-day free trial (card required, then $3/mo unless you cancel). Static codes you download keep working even after you cancel. Your content stays in your browser.

How a WiFi QR code works

The code holds a short line of text in a standard format (WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;;). Phone cameras on current iOS and Android read that text and offer to join the network. Nothing goes through a website, so there is no link that can break later.

When you change the password

The password lives inside the code, so a new password needs a new code. Print the new one when you rotate the password, and remove the old sign the same day so guests do not get a failed join.

Keep the guest network separate

If your router supports a guest network, put that one in the code rather than the network your registers or office computers use.

Static or dynamic?

Static codes hold your content in the image and never route through us, so they keep working forever, even after you cancel. Dynamic codes (Pro) point to a short qrpromise.com link you can edit after printing and include scan counts; they need an active trial or subscription and pause if you cancel. More on static vs dynamic.

Questions

Do you see my WiFi password?

No. The code is drawn in your browser. The password is not uploaded to QR Promise.

Does it work on a hidden network?

Yes. Tick Hidden network so phones know to look for it.
