QR code for a PDF

QR codes cannot hold a whole PDF file. They hold the address where the PDF lives. Paste that address and scan the preview to check it opens.

Create your code

Use a public link. Links that need a sign in will not open for people who scan.

Building and previewing the code is free and works right here; you can scan the preview with your phone. Downloading the PNG or SVG file starts the 7-day free trial (card required, then $3/mo unless you cancel). Static codes you download keep working even after you cancel. Your content stays in your browser.

Where to host the PDF

Your own website is the most stable place. Cloud drive links can work, but check the sharing setting allows anyone with the link to view, and note that moving or deleting the file breaks the code.

Replacing the file

If you upload a new version under the same address, the printed code shows the new file. If the address changes, you need a new code or a dynamic code (Pro) that you can repoint.

Check it on a phone

Open the link on a phone before printing. Large PDFs can be slow on mobile data.

Static or dynamic?

Static codes hold your content in the image and never route through us, so they keep working forever, even after you cancel. Dynamic codes (Pro) point to a short qrpromise.com link you can edit after printing and include scan counts; they need an active trial or subscription and pause if you cancel. More on static vs dynamic.

Questions

Do you host my PDF?

No. QR Promise makes the code. Your PDF stays wherever you host it.

Can people download the PDF?

That depends on where it is hosted. Most browsers let people view and save a public PDF.
