How to replace an expired QR code
Step-by-step: replace an expired or deactivated QR code with a static code that keeps working. QR Promise preview is free; downloading starts a 7-day card-required trial.
Our Promise
Static codes on QR Promise are generated in your browser, contain your data directly, and never route through us — so they can never be deactivated.
Step 1 — Recover the destination
If you still know the final website, menu PDF, or WiFi network, write it down. If the old code only opens a paywall, dig up the original link from your files.
Step 2 — Generate a static replacement
Use QR Promise for URL, WiFi, vCard, email, or SMS. Preview in the browser for free and scan-test before you print.
Step 3 — Download and print
Downloading PNG/SVG starts the 7-day card-required trial, then $3/mo unless you cancel. Reminder ~3 days before the first charge.
Step 4 — Cover the old code
Sticker over packaging or table tents if a full reprint is slow. Remove the dead code so guests are not sent to a paywall.
