How static QR codes work (plain English)

Static QR codes store the data in the image. Learn how that differs from dynamic short links, and why static codes keep working after you cancel a trial.

Our Promise

Static codes on QR Promise are generated in your browser, contain your data directly, and never route through us — so they can never be deactivated.

The pattern is the data

A static QR is a drawing of your URL, WiFi string, or vCard. The camera decodes it offline. No account check happens at scan time.

No kill switch

Because the scan never hits qrpromise.com for static codes, ending your trial cannot turn those codes off.

Tradeoffs

You cannot edit the destination without reprinting. You do not get built-in scan counts on static codes. Those are Pro dynamic features.
